A MOMENT OF TRANSITION
Just as our ancestors marked the passage into darkness, there are also rituals that guide us back into the light. Walpurgis Night is one of them, a moment of transition when what once lived in the dark begins to emerge into visibility.
It is a time to take account of those who have remained among the living and to acknowledge that what was done during the winter now lies behind us. Words once spoken in the night begin to lose their weight and forgiveness becomes possible.
Patience and perseverance start to reveal their quiet rewards while excess and pride return in more restless forms, lingering with those who once gave them life.
Beneath the surface, the seed that waited through the cold begins to rise. Nature reveals its cyclical power once again, reminding us how fleeting our worries and our winter fears truly are when the light returns.
And it will return. Maybe not yesterday, but tomorrow certainly.
In this moment, wherever we may be, we are given the chance to notice which cycle has come to an end and where a new beginning is quietly taking shape. The question is not whether change is happening but whether we are willing to recognize it.
So let us begin with what we have learned about ourselves over the past winter and decide what we are ready to carry forward.
